When Inspired Gets Tired.
As I waddled around the yard with my macro lens today, I was pleasantly surprised to find the lilacs slowly starting to bloom.
With one eye looking through my viewfinder, I got one shot fired off before my other eye caught Toddler discovering the birdbath. It got tipped, he got drenched, I cried Uncle.
Naturally this only makes me ponder how much dust my camera will collect after the twins arrive, considering I only have 2 arms and all. But, luckily for me, I am nothing if not consistently wrong.
Even though I know you will be crazy busy I hope you don't let it gather too much dust. You and your pics would be seriously missed by yours truly.
And that shot? Fantastic. Truly.
Oh, you'll be busy snapping pictures ~ but they'll all be of your beautiful new babies!!!
Lovely shot. Your lilacs are about a day or two ahead of ours. I'll have to bring my camera out there when it stops raining.
Great picture! I think Valley Girl is right. Your pictures will be of those beautiful babies...their smiles, and milestones, messes, of course!
What a gorgeous spring-y picture! I can't WAIT till our lilacs bloom!!!
Is that frost on that pretty little bloom?
It looks like it's covered in sugar!
I'm sure the babies will bring plenty of inspiration. I can't wait!
I love the picture
great photo friday
first, gorgeous shot!
next...yes, it will gather dust for a bit. but then you get in your mojo and it all comes together. plus those little babies will be too cute to miss! I am sure we will see many little toes and fingers!
Now my nose is all stuffy -- but beautiful shot any way!
Don't worry -- photography is in your blood, and the twins will just be a greater source of inspiration.
i well remember the day when i ran out of hands for kids...
the fun is about to start!!!
Gorgeous shot! You know that when you give birth to twins, they give you an extra set of arms at the hospital. Well, maybe not, but just as you can't imagine loving more than one child, your heart grows even bigger. And with that you capacity to handle more than one. We're all thinking of you! Happy PSF.
ahhhh, spring flowers are the best! And I have a feeling you'll learn to take your two arms and make them seem like four when those twins arrive!
that is an amazing picture!
I didn't know I loved lilacs until right now. Are they really that fuzzy?
Beautiful.
What you must do then is take your camera with you everywhere you go, and shoot a great quantity of photos NOW, before the twins arrive. You can hoard them for future use!
TGIF!

Beautiful shot. If you think your camera is going to gather dust after the birth, just holler. I'll come there each weekend to chronicle your family life.
I have always though pregnant women should grow extra arms. :) I hope you still find moments to photograph things as I love your style!
Wonderful photo! I took SO many pictures of the twins even though they were numbers 5 and 6. I didn't want to miss a thing of them changing and growing and how in the heck did I really have twins! It won't gather much dust, I'm guessing!
If it helps (it might not), I just got a snazzy new zoom/macro for my birthday (Tues) and I still haven't had time to try it out. It doesn't help that it's been raining nearly constantly, so I can't exactly trot around outside. But between that and the kids and the work I'm trying to get done... *sigh* Still, your photo is gorgeous. And I'm hoping I can learn to do thing like that with some practice.
you can sling one on your front and one on your back and go to town. When you do this let me know so I can witness it.
I love the picture.
You will be greatly inspired by your new babies! It'll just take a little while to get back into the swing of things. Maybe just let the house chores slide and enjoy taking pictures...having babies is always a good excuse to let some things go! :)
Amazing amazing amazing...'nuff said!!
Gorgeous photo. Funny story. Makes me feel less alone. My photostory Friday is about crying uncle to my toddler too, how bout that?!
fabulous shot!
You'll cry uncle, aunt, and cousins too, and imagine you'll have it caught all on film too.
Fantastic photo
but what a shot it is!
that is a beautiful photo, it almost looks like it is covered in sugar. you will find the time, i promise.
My lilacs are starting to bloom too! :)
Brilliant shot. I love it.
Oh dear toddler got wet because of it! All part of the learning curve!
I feel for you right now. You must get tired!
hooray! I love the smell of lilacs :)
I participated in a month long photo scavenger hunt which was posted today--so that's my story for today!
C'mon...your pics inspire...but I think you'll be too busy with pics of babies and toddler. Great shot...beautiful. Thanks for inspiring!
Gorgeous.
I'm pretty sure that you'll have two non-moving cuties to use that camera on. And a quick moving toddler to keep you on your toes with some action shots!
First visit here - via David - and WOW! What an artist's eye you have - I'm truly blown away by your photos. The lilac shot is masterful.
How exciting - you're having twins! I can just imagine how utterly beautiful the photographic record of their lives will be. Such a talented Mama!
Just think, you'll have two additional subjects to photograph now. We're expecting lots of twin pics in the future. And also twins with big brother pics. Your photos are so amazing....I can't wait.
Kudos on winning David's POTD award.
Oh please don't let it collect too much dust I LOVE your pictures and look forward to seeing them but I understand you will be busy, but you'll also be taking some incredibly gorgeous pics of those babies of that I am sure!!
Hugs girl!
Congrats on POTD!
I think you will be inspired to take even more...but the subjects will have chubby cheeks and cute little smiles.
LOVELY shot, and if you're capable of getting shots like that with an active toddler, you WILL find a way with three :-)
That looks like sugared fruit! :) Once your twins arrive my guess is that we are going to be seeing lots of sweet baby pictures.
OH, that is sooo beautiful, so glad you used that lovely little lens again!!! Love the detail, you are a wonder with a macro lens.
And I for one, wouldn't mind if all you had time for were pictures of the twins - can't wait!
when are you due?
I love this picture! I love lilacs!
Your pictures are always so beautiful.
Dang girl. One shot is apparently all you need! This is incredible! I'm sure your camera will be put to excellent use capturing forever memories of your beautiful children.
WHAT macro lens? The 100? Wow, magnificent.
You better not stop, I'm guessing we'll see macro shots of all things twins and I, for one, can not wait.
What an absolutely gorgeous photo!!
Beautiful again. I miss lilacs SO MUCH. You can grow a variety down here in the Deep South that doesn't smell - what would be the point?
Other people have arms too so I bet you get that one figured out. ;) Somebody always wants to hold a baby you just want and see. Lovely shot, the lilacs are blooming down here too and I think they have the most heavenly scent. Be well as we near the end.
Rest up, my friend, rest up;) That shot is fantastic.
Beautiful shot!!!
Unbelievable shot...the detail is amazing.
I'm sure you'll be taking all kinds of pictures when the twins come... in between diaper changes, of course!
That's a gorgeous photo. I love it. :)
Well at least you got a great shot! ;)
These almost look like frozen grapes! And bird bath + toddler = good times!
You will definitely have your hands full when they come, but I am sure you will find a way to catch the moments anyway! I love lilacs...can't wait for them to be in bloom here too!
I love lilacs, and I love your macro lens (and that you waddle now). What an awesome shot! Why can't I do that? Oh well. At least I played along - if not 12+ hours late...
*sigh* I miss you, Dude! And your fantastic photos.
Hope you're doing well.
Everything else may got to hell in a handbasket, but I'm sure you'll be snapping pictures left and right when those babies come!
I'll bet you'll be surprised at how many things you will be able to get done with those two arms!
I suspect there will be lots of great pictures of adorable baby toes. :-)
Lisa
Lovely, lovely....you must keep the camera within arm's reach for the little ones!!
:o) BJ
gorgeous shot!
I hope you'll still be taking lots of pictures! It might be a little bit harder but you'll find a way to do it.
Snapping pictures when your twins are almost due? You go, girl. I was beached on the coach like Shamu.
They look like they're covered in sugar.
I hope your camera doesn't' collect too much dust.
