Stir-Crazy.
Today's high: A tropical -17°.
When your car doesn't start, when your water pipes freeze and when you fear getting frostbitten while walking to your mailbox, you begin to seriously contemplate either (A) moving, (B) watching VH1's Rock of Love Bus re-runs (I totally disgust myself) or (C) planning a vacation somewhere warm, no matter how much you may dread wearing, the mother of all whale gear, A MATERNITY SWIMSUIT.
-17 is so mind boggling for me. I have no concept of what that must feel like. You may want to escape it but I'd give anything to try it out :). Want to swap?
Holy CRUMBS woman! I say crack out the skirted suit and get the beach! That is FAR too cold!!
It is frickin-frackin cold here in good ol' Missouri too. And to think that back in the day, I thought Brett Michaels was HOT!
HA - I have a couple you can borrow!!
And lucky m e- postman delivered to my door today! (we are at -30 with windchill)
Does ANYONE really think Brett Michaels is HOT? I don't get it. Yet, I too, still watch that smut.
I'm with Cecily. Put on the skirt, get out of town and MILK IT! :)
Confession: I thought Brett was hot when I was 13.
That's all. :)
That is cooooold! I know it is too cold to even really function - but, I still am a big fan of winter. It is the time of year that I feel like slowing down and cuddling up. When it is summer and the sun is shining so brightly - like it is known to do here in Texas - A LOT - I always feel the need to stay in motion - stay busy and not waste one minute of each sunshiny day. But ... when winter comes - even here in Texas - I am content to settle in and let the cold surround me. I love winter.
Stay warm - my friend! See you soon - Kellan
I am so ready for warmer weather. I shall never curse those 100 degree July days ever again.
Days like that make me glad we moved from Montana to the South. I do not miss those temps. one bit.
I hope it warms up soon.
I've been thinking about you guys. Stay warm. And, whatever keeps you entertained when the temps are that insane, right?
HaHA, welcome to MY world!! We live like this for THREE STINKIN' MONTHS!!!
Good Lord, that is cold! I can't wait for spring!
Dang! That's cold!
I had the worst maternity swimsuit...hope you find a better one that I did.
i'm wanting to get pregnant again *just* for the comfortable clothes. fashion? who needs fashion. i say give me stretchy regions!
That's freaking cold, girl! I say break out the whale suit and come visit us. :)
Please can we swap - it's been three figures in Melbourne this week.
That is cold! I haven't seen those temps since we lived in Alaska.
PS, Love Rock of Love....but I didn't know there was a Rock of Love Bus. Off to go DVR those reruns!
Happy Thursday!
EEK! That's cold! The coldest it's gotten here so far this winter is -10 degrees. Those are the days I keep myself inside. I would brave the maternity swimsuit if I were you and get thyself to FL, where it's 70-ish degrees, my mom informs me. :)
PS- It could be worse. It was -77 degrees in Alaska last week. brrr.
That may be the most obscene photo I have ever seen!
Don't worry about the swimsuit -- everyone will be focused on your glow.
All pregnant women have a certain beauty about them.
And I'm not even fishing for brownie points.
Oh.My.Word.
I think I will stop complaining now about how much I dislike winter. We've been near 40 degrees this week, which has been SO nice.
Isn't it SO hard to keep your kids amused inside all day long?! *sigh*
I know its cold but the maternity bathing suit, yikes. ;)
This is my first week playing with you guys, I see Photo Story Friday on a lot of my favorite blogs. I just had to join in. You blog and photos are great by the way.
Ahhhh but in the water my aching back finally didn't hurt - in the water I was weightless. I swam at the YMCA until I was about 7 and 1/2 months long with the twins and that cute high school boy had visible heart palpitations when ever I came out to swim - he was so afraid I would go in to labor on his watch. Of course I looked about 12 months pregnant. heh
Bwah ha, Rock of Love. I just...can't...look...away...
Come on, a few days of extreme cold like this is kindof fun, don't you think? I do. I really do.
KEEP BELIEVING
Global warming....uh huh. I don't believe 'em. Hope it warms up for you soon, without blowing all the cold to OUR direction (which is supposed to happen this weekend. *cry*)
At least you got two little wee ones inside and a cutie on the outside to keep ya warm, right? : )
P.S. BRRRRRRR!
BRRR!! It feels like that right now!!! I'd love to be some where warm.
I think I would go crazy, too! That is ridiculously cold! Crazy cold!
BRRR! That"s freaking cold!
It's cold here, too, but not that cold. Right now it's -4.
I hate winter.
Yes it is too DANG cold. School has now been cancelled for 2 days and no school on Monday due to MLK's day. SO 5 days to go bonkers. Yippee. I CANNOT wait until it gets warmer.
That is cold! We have been in WI for 4 years where this kind of temp. is common, and now we are in TN. Everyone is freaking out about the 9 degrees we are going to have tonight... they are even closing school!
And don't feel bad about the maternity suit... Go to a class... then you will all feel like whales! Been there, done that! Good luck!
Yikes! That is cold. It is getting colder tomorrow in OK and we have a blustery wind. I like the idea of a warm vacation. Planning a trip is half the fun...go for it!
The temp has just been outrageously cold but with two in the oven you should be fairly warm. :) We are taking a road trip this weekend to get my step-daughter and grandson from Missouri for them to come up and visit for a few weeks. I'm sure this will be a shock for her, she's never been up her in the winter.
I don't know where you live, but I'm glad I'm not there! =) Stay warm...or try to.
Holy crap I totally missed the post about you being preggo. Just wanted to say Congrats! ahh!
Yes the weather we are having is so nice. I have to catch Rock of Love. I haven't seen it yet.
Pish posh. Come on down to Florida. Soak up some sun. And don't bother with maternity bathing suits...just wear a two piece and let it all hang out.
But not this week. We've actually got lows in the 30s right now (which I won't complain about since you're freezing your little preggo heiny off). Take care and stay warm!
That is waaaaaaaaay crazy cold.
Not to down-play your situation -- since where you live, that is considered cold.
BUT...we have been sitting at -40F off-and-on for the past several weeks.
And the temps YOU are experiencing right now...those are normal temps for us for a few months.
It's all what you're used to though...and hey -- GO FOR THE TRIP, maternity suit and all!! :)
I have NEVER been somewhere that cold....and I soooooooooooooooooo don't want to.
We hit zero last night and that was cold enough for me - I can't imagine how cold that's got to be. We're at a 'balmy' 6 degrees at the moment...
That vacation idea is sounding pretty good at the moment to me too. :)
I'm freezing right now in my 65 degree house.
I don't even want to THINK about your weather!
I would definitely go for the beach too. Wish I was there now.
Great photo! That kind of temperature is mind boggling as Amanda said. But, maternity bathing suit isn't all bad. It means you get to be in a pool and float...feeling like a light weight.
BURRRRRR!! I can't imagine!!!
yup...about the same here. so stinking cold! i was wondering when to catch up on rock of love bus... :)
I feel ya on the cold weather! We were just talking about this ... how we are TIRED of the super cold weather! We have spent a good share of this winter below zero. I would risk the 'wale suit' and head south!
is that a REAL temperature?
Ahhhhhh! A maternity swimsuit!
Actually mine is pretty cute. :)
But yes, warm would be really nice.
Hey, that's not so funny-- I have my maternity swimsuit, my child is now two and I'm NOT carrying twins. Could be why I live somewhere there is no sun year round :-)
That is sincerely cold weather you are having and we get worried over here if it gets to minus two!
I would get a a maternity swimsuit if I could swim and if I was pregnant! LOL!
This makes me cringe just looking that that temp. Brrr woman! It's 37 this morning here and I'm freezing my bottom off...
The only thing worse? Wearing a non-maternity swim suit when you really need one! Don't worry, all the moms are too busy worrying about themselves to notice anyone else! I bet you look fabulous anyway!
Oh, and I feel you on the weather junk--we have the same!
And I thought 7 was cold.
Yeah it's pretty bad when you open your door and step outside and the snot in your nose freezes. Hmmm...must be one of the reasons I moved to NM, avoid that weather. LOL
Stay warm! As for the maternity swim suit, I'm hoping to avoid one. I signed W.W. up for a toddler and parent swimming class that starts the end of February and am now wondering if my suit is going to fit or not for it. ;)
That is just tooo cold!
Holy cow woman!
I can't even imagine weather that cold. YIKES!!!
Come on over to Southern California.......we are having a high of 80 today!!
But skip the maternity bathing suit. Preggers moms here just wear their bikini's and let the belly hang out.
It's all good!
My first Photostory is posted here.
Sure hope you're out of the deep freeze soon!
Yikes. Definitely time to hit the beach or something. I'm not fond of so much coldness. Fortunately, when we get that kind of stuff here, it goes away quickly. Usually. Wishing you warmer days! :D
WOW...brrrr! Man that would make me dream of warmer places too. Stay warm and inside!
Oh brrrr! I am pretty sure that I am a total wuss for complaining about our much nicer 3 degrees around here. If our air temp had a negative in front of it? You would just have to take me out and shoot me...because otherwise my incessant whining would drive you absolutely crazy.
Stay warm!
Good grief that's cold! I can't even imagine. I can barely handle 32! Stay warm, okay?
OMW that's freezing! I can't actually even imagine temps like that.
;) especially considering we haven't had temps lower that 27deg C in weeks!
Ugh! It's awful here too (-25 this AM). I would totally go somewhere warm and wear a maternity swimsuit if it meant getting out of this cold!!!
I'm in Minnesota...I feel your pain. It's so dang cold out there. According to the local news station we had to endure about 86 hours below zero this past week.
Thank God it's going to get ABOVE zero today. I am dreading the heating bill!
Stay warm and I hope it gets better soon!
yes, I would watch the reruns AND plan a warm vacation...
Brrrr :) a vacation somewhere warm sounds awesome! :)
Rock of Love is the greatest bad show EVER. No need to be ashamed.
I'm in Houston. I have no concept of how cold that is. I can read the thermometer . . . but it's like in Klingon or something. Boggling.
WOW!! That is cold!!! It's only 0 here so it's nice quite as bad. Enjoy planning that trip :)
Ah yes, the joy of a maternity swim suit - makes your husband fall in love with you all over again!?!
I can't imagine -17. I've never even built a snowman!
I've also fantasized about living in a place with a proper winter, but I suppose with kids it must be quite a mission. How to keep them entertained?
OH HELL. MOVE.
Then do options b and c.
Oh honey, darling. You poor thing. This weather is RUDE. Come to AZ and visit moi, where it is 77 today. [I know...you can slap me here_____]
Damn that's cold... I can't believe your thermometer goes that low (-60!).
May I suggest a game of blokus?
www.blokus.com
Careful, though, if you go. It's very addicting!
I can SO relate to this....same weather we're having....balmy isn't it?? I hate it. Can't even breathe. Hope it lifts soon and you get your trip to the beach!!
Thanks for the warm welcome to PhotoStory (pretty good considering your freezing temps there!) For a nice epilogue to the story, check out the comment from DaniOfAlaska (comment #6). Sweet! Telling our stories is such a good, healing thing to do!
Just came back to let you know I tagged you for a little photo meme. I hope you can play along! : )
And I hope you are having a great weekend and staying WARM!!
Oooo that's cold!
Ours hit -31 C., the cat were sooo not amused! I don't mind as long as I don't have yard duty anymore.
Oh my...... I cannot relate at all!!!!! I do not think I have ever seen that temp before. And the last week... I have been too warm in a tank top. Today is the first day in over a week that I think will be under 80°! Which I am not loving the heat... but that cold... Yikes. Beautiful photo though.
Gah! The maternity swimsuit. So many unflattering cuts.
My friend wore a regular 'ol bikini during her last pregnancy and she completely rocked it! Nothing more appropriate than a big, beachball belly at the beach, right?
Goodness that is so cold. I'd suck up and do the bathing suit. ;) No one there would know you anyway. That's always a nice reminder.
Oh yes...it was a bit chilly last week, wasn't it?? I hear we have another arctic wind a blowin' in more good times this weekend. Yay!
That is definitely a picture that shows a thousand words. Wonderful!
Um, wow. That is what I would call "freaky butt cold." And I thought it was bad here this morning when it was 43.
Wellit isn't quite that cold here but cold is still cold. Thank goodness for heat
sheesh! where the HE double L do you LIVE? it's a balmuy 82 right now - hehe.
Option A would be my first choice. I couldn't live anywhere I couldn't wear shorts all year :]
Hope it gets warm soon.
I have been so out of the loop! I guess a big CONGRATULATIONS is in order!!!
Hee Hee Hee. We were just commenting on how nice it was here today. Yeah, it's only -4. We've become way, way, way too conditioned to cold. I hope you and the babies are doing great. Have I said Congratulations! yet? Consider it done. Hugs too.
I LOVE maternity swimsuits! I thought the best thing about being pregnant was the clothes, and the swimsuits definitely part of it. Why? Because the abdomen is so big, it makes one's legs look skinny. My legs are, er... MUSCULAR! =) They never look skinny. I wish I could wear a maternity swimsuit forever!
