Keeping Bees Away
Tis the season and I'm not talking ho-ho-ho.
We have bees everywhere right now. A trick we've learned to keep the bees away is to spray Avon's Skin So Soft. Apparently Avon re-formulated the SSS lotion to contain sunscreen and insect repellent.
We frequently have bees hanging around our hummingbird feeders and by our patio table.
By simply spraying Skin So Soft in an inconspicuous area really does keep them away. We've even spray it on the back of our son's coat in the fall to keep the bees off of him.
Another remedy we've used that works effeciently is to simply rub a bounce dryer sheet over clothes or fabric as well. It works wonders.
It works for me!
This totally does work...!
Good advice :)

Soap under the eaves of your house works great for keeping the bees at bay. I learned that tip this year and it really works.
My Mom used to make sure we sprayed it on or put it in our bath water to keep away both bees and mosquitoes. It works in my opinion.
Thanks!
Thanks for this--I'll get some thanks to your recommendation! I always thought the Skin So Soft as insect repellent was an urban legend!
Keeps them away from my dog, too.
This is a great tip, I didn't know they made a SSS spray. Thanks!
We use it for mosquitos, but I never thought about using it for bees. Thanks! I love the kind that has sunscreen in it. It works great and is so easy to apply!
It's the baby oil that is in the Avon skin so soft that keeps the bees away.
For yellow jackets, it seems to worsen. They are attacking more than without the SSS.
