Deliver Me.

Me, 36 weeks pregnant with twins.

In case you can't tell (or are blind), I'm ready. I'm BEYOND ready.

Yesterday's ultrasound measured each twin at 6 pounds 3 ounces. Sleeping, sitting, standing, even breathing are officially becoming a physical impossibility.

One thing is for certain. Come hell or high water, they will make a debut soon. If they don't arrive in the next few days, my c-section is scheduled for late next week.

I'm anxious. I'm anxious for the delivery. I'm anxious for their health. I'm anxious to meet them. I'm anxious for Toddler to meet them. And I'm anxious to find out their genders. My Aunt recently died and her last words to me were "Oh, by the way, they're both girls". I'm still going with 1 boy, 1 girl. Sam's pulling for 2 more boys to neatly complete a golf foursome. So much for a consensus.

Alas, let the games begin.

  1. Did you PhotoShop or do you simply not have stretchmarks? I'm not sure we can be friends anymore.

You (or your belly, anyway!) look fabulous! All the best for a safe, speedy delivery and happy, healthy babies!!

  2. Am I really the first commenter?!

Your belly is beautiful, and it's so cool the babies are over six pounds. I hope everything goes great! (I'll root for one of each too.)

I am definitely done. That breathing and walking bit? It would be nice to be able to do those things again. I bet you'll deliver before me!

  3. Wow! You are at 36 weeks and your TWINS are already as big as I was when I was born!? Funny, that I'm talking about when I was born. On today of all days.

So my vote is for a quick delivery. Today. It's a good day. ;)

  4. Really?! how can you not look HUGE? I was massive!
We can't wait to meet your babies either!

  5. You must be exhausted.
That is a good weight for twins.
Well I hope that by next week we will know whether it is boys, girls or one of each!
All the best for a healthy delivery.

  9. Holy crumbs my friend...that is a beautiful belly. I'm not kidding. My belly always looked like a topographical map or something by that time and I was only carrying one.

It's kind of not fair. I kind of feel mad at you. But in a good, "I'm so excited for you!!!" kind of way. :)

We'll all be thinking of you in the coming weeks. XOXO

Good luck, I hope they come soon, I remember how miserable my wife was towards the end (and she didn't even make it to 36 weeks with the last two).

For my money, I say it's two girls.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm saying one girl, one boy. But I've got a really scrappy track record on this subject!

  70. Ok, I'm going to be a terrible reference for c-sections. Although I know what you mean about being ready. At 37 weeks this past Tuesday the 9th, I felt beyond ready myself. Everything went fine with the c-section even if I didn't like it, and E.C. is still in NICU right now. But he's doing better and we're hopeful he'll be home next week.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm sure all will go well! I can't wait to see pictures of these little bambinos. :)

Maybe they are here by now. Either way, be well and enjoy.

Either way, God bless you and the clan.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Your stomach is really excellent. You're really very happy woman. I am in the eighth month of pregnancy but my stomach is very small and I very worry about it.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Pregnancy is indeed a very mysterious thing for me. Now I also believe this is one of God's miracle. Great photo you have here. By the way, there's a new social networking site dedicated to parents and kids, it's called Bluepixo.com - it's a place for Moms, Dads, and Kids! Now, there’s even a chance to win a free iPod Nano!. It would be so nice of you to join our parents’ forums and polls. Thanks a lot and have a great day!
