PhotoStory Friday: Buy Now, Receive Never

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek
Every time I post another flower shot, I envision you instantly falling asleep and hitting your head on your monitor. Death by floral boredom.
So, off we go.
Whenever I walk past the Allium perennials in my garden, I find myself giving them the patented stare of damnation. I bought the bulbs on the internet because they were out of stock at the local nurseries at the time.
The 4 bulbs plus shipping cost about 2 frazillion dollars. As soon as I clicked the BUY NOW button, the "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" error vomitted all over the place.
I wish they'd customize the error to be realistic: "Wow. Sucks to be you. Your credit card might be charged double. You may or may not EVER receive your product and your e-mail address will likely be spammed. Have a great day."

After months of nagging, I eventually received the dead product and ended up purchasing them from a local nursery. *Insert a sigh HERE, HERE and HERE*.

So, I know NOTHING about flowers, or plants, or things that live in the ground. But maybe, just maybe, those little suckers were worth it. Purdy!
As a gardener and a photographer, I have to say that is a stunning shot.
I wrote my Photo Story Friday post last night and it's set to auto-post later today.
Ohhhh, that's SO sucky! I'm totally rotten when it comes to plants, so I never buy any ~ locally or online! Those flowers are really beautiful though. Once again, incredible shot!
I love plants but I hate spending a frazillion dollars so I tend to go cheap 'cause RxMan and I are a tad lazy with the garden hose (and lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, dust cloth, etc) when Mother Nature goes on strike.
Lovely shot! And I didn't even vomit- promise!
Love the error vomit. That's superior.
When you have time, stop by and snort a bit at my latest post.
*snugglies*
That's just WRONG! You never got them? Ugh. I hate that you got shafted.
But, the shot was stunning.
You are one brave lady. To buy expensive bulbs. On line. Now I know.
Never bored with great floral shots!
I'm just not smart enough yet to take this sort of picture. I go out every day and take pictures. Lately, I've been taking bunches of pictures of our fountain in the front yard - you know - trying to get the flowing water - UGH! No good ones yet.
This is beautiful - you are my hero photo-blogging Godess!
Have a good Friday - see you - Kellan
I loved the story too - HA!
Wow!! Great picture. I have no flower or photo story. I guess the only flower we have in our house made from silk. :) I can kill even the most resilient plant.

Oh man that does suck that your bulbs were a dud. Beautiful shot!! I am not an avid gardener so I am not sure I have seen then before but I love them!!
I'll insert a sigh here, too, for good measure:
SIGH
Pretty picture, tho.
Wow is that one gorgeous shot!
I hit my head on the monitor, but not from boredom.
It was because I was laughing hysterically at your
"Death by floral boredom" comment, your "stare of damnation" comment, your "error vomitted" comment, and finally your "realistic error message".
This entire post was hilarious, except for the photo.
It was fabulous!
Beautiful flowers, sad but funny story. Definitely tells a story.
Crap, I forgot about this and wrote a haiku.
Amazing shot, as always!
Other people's flower shots, maybe. A little snooze worthy. Yours? NE-VER. That is seriously gorgeous.
And your story? FAB. Error vomit may be my new favorite phrase.
Oh, I HATE dealing with difficult companies!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. :(
Of course, the local nursery version sure turned out lovely!
I never, EVER fall asleep at your flower shots. I LOVE them. Keep 'em coming.
So beautiful!!!
This was such a funny read and the flower shot is just amazing, I couldn't take my eyes off them.
Have a geatweekend. :)
At least they're pretty. And I love your three sighs in a row. :)
Please come make my garden look pretty! Your description of the computer error was perfect:)
Never, ever tire of the flowers.
Do, however, tire of online wowzers.
They stress me OUT! I thought online shopping was supposed to be easier...
oh man....I hate that error....I have gotten it many a time, and it really does just leave you hanging.
I'm glad you finally got it though. Gorgeous photo.
happy PSF!
Never too many flower photos! I've been taking some with my new camera, fascinating.
Hope I've done the linking thing correctly. Panicked yesterday that it wasn't there, then remembered I'm about 5 hours ahead of you! Please check out my photo of the Masai Mara - my first photostory Friday!
Okey-dokey - my post has auto-published.
Yep, that's a real fear of buying on the internet. Risky, but your flowers turned out great. Of course, the picture did too.
b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!! WHAT A GORGEOUS SHOT! I love flower photos. :-)
I need your help in our garden! Even our wildflowers don't grow for all the weeds and poison ivy crowding them out.
I still love your photostory idea - I did one this week!
The the flowers are pretty, I love purple, even if you had a crazy time trying to buy them...
Ooooo I like the colour and the funky shape.
The new Error Message is by far the funniest one I've ever read. Why is that? Why are you so damn funny.
frustrating story!!! Great pic.
My PSF post is about getting RID of a flower bed! I wish you lived nearby and could take some photos of my lovely hydrangeas. You'd be captivated by the plant, I'm sure, and I'd love to have the photos! Happy PSF and thanks for hosting!
TM
They look like they were worth your persistence. You must have a really pretty garden!
I LOVE your flower pics! Actually, my post is full of them (AGAIN!). And this may be the last that I bore you all with vacation pics :)
Well, they are beautiful and worth the angst. Great shot - love the water droplets.
I ordered from Michigan Bulb and finally cancelled my order since I orded mid-May and they were going to ship Mid-July. Hello?? Like it will live if I plant their fragile selves in the heat of summer. At least I got it cancelled. Now I've got to get some others to fill the vacant areas. *sigh* Gardening is never ending...but at least it looks purty! :)
I love the flower shots. I'm THIS close to asking you to post a picture of your whole garden. It must be spectacular!
I will always love your photos ~ and flowers make a perfect subject. Those are stunning!
Beautiful pictures. And beautiful flowers. I don't garden and don't know about flowers, but I know about purple and I LOVE purple! And pictures. Not hitting my head on the monitor, either.
I could just post pictures of flowers every time too! LOVE them!
Found you from over on Michelle's site and just had to join in and play along... :)
Beautiful flower photo!!
hehehehehehe...you're so funny. And that page does not display error when you buying something ranks up there with the blue screen of death. LOL
Great water droplets on those hugely expensive flowers though.
I don't know anything about flowers, but I've recently bought a few ferns. Just cheap little ones to make the house nice. But, your flowers? Are beautiful. :)
They are beautiful.... terrible experience though.
Funny story. Beautiful photo!
I absolutely LOVE that colour!! I've never grown those flowers before, in fact I've never seen them.
I could never get bored of looking at your flowers.
If you think ordering plants through the mail is tough ... Well, nevermind, it is. Especially when you live in Zone 10b and the companies won't ship plants to you at the time of year you need to plant them.
This post was HILARIOUS. Well...at your expense. Always love your post titles!
No Good....but I loved your realistic error message. Great shot of those flowers. I love how they are wet.
Oh man. Despite your frustrations, the flowers are AMAZING!
Wow.
Gorgeous shot, and I didn't even get slightly sleepy!
PhotoStory friday sounds fun!
Yay! My first Photostory Friday! Thanks for starting this! I know I'm jumping on a week late, but better late than never, right?
I think I have spent a frazillion dollars on seeds this year. Our success to failure ratio is one frazillion to one ;)
Your photo is stunning!! The story's kind of a bummer. But I think you still came out ahead - eventually. Absolutely beautiful! :D
I actually love flower photos. I'm not such a great gardener & enjoy living vicariously through others.
Okay. I took a picture tonight and I wrote a story.
Now, how the HECK does one get the code to work in Typepad?!?
Anyone?
I need sleep.
I never ever fall asleep while looking at your pictures. You are amazing. Beautiful photo!!
I love close up flower photos, so you will never bore me. I wish I could figure out how to take them.
I love your flower pictures. Very pretty.
And look I remembered week two with minutes to spare. Go me! ;)
Beautiful Shot!!
Nope, didn't understand ANYTHING about the flowers, did get the "sucks to be you" part on the error when placing an online order though...I do, however, appreciate the beauty in YOUR flowers. Just can't keep 'em alive here at mi casa.
Love the idea, and you can never have too many flowers. Especially in picture form because I can't accidentally kill those :-)
Love the picture! and I believe I have sighed those same damn sighs....
beautiful photo!
How'd you know I hit me head!? Kidding. Sorry I couldn't come out and play yesterday, seems I got some cold from some little snotty kid at on of the many play dates we had last weekend. Ugh!
No posting yesterday, or today, or maybe tomorrow. Bur your flower shots are always interesting because your focus is so much tighter and (as my 3-year-old says) cool!
I have a similar internet purchase story that went south involving some knobs/drawer pulls.
UNBELIEVABLE shot. Wow. I am speechless...
Heidi
I could never fall asleep on your photos! That is one awesome flower!
And dang me, I keep forgetting the photostory friday. Ok, I'm aiming again for the next one. :(
That shot is AMAZING. You've got talent girl!
NOT as all! I enjoy every one of your shots! Thanks for sharing.
