Brief Ambition
Today I woke up Jerry Maguire-esque.
I proclaimed today the day to go shopping for new jeans, new shorts and the mother of all things faux fun, a new swimming suit.
And then.
The coffee-maker broke. My son woke up sick with a fever. And the view from Chateau Geek was all like this.

Ambition aborted.

Gotta love days like that! So frustrating. Sometimes, though, I think days like that are God's reminder to slow down. So enjoy your unexpected "day off" from all the chaos.
Haha, ditto. Only my coffee maker is fine and the clouds that looked so threatening this morning have given way to another virtually clear sky. But since I didn't get started first thing this morning, well..... yeah. The ambition just isn't there!
I hope your son feels better soon. Fevers make everyone miserable and I wouldn't want it to last long.
Although I would put off buying a swim suit for as long as possible. ;)
Oh but those clouds! They look heavenly to me. Wow!
We have a bunch of sickies over here too. It happens every Mother's Day it seems. ;)
Some day, when I have time, I'm gonna record my laughter and send it to you. Thanks for always making me laugh and realize that I'm not the only one who suffers. You. Are. A. Hoot.
Oh GAWD, this was hilarious. Although I can't see myself shopping for a new fat suit even when it's sunny.
Oh. My. God. Why in the name of all that is holy would you spend Mother's Day with your ILs? No wonder the clouds were so ominous and the coffee maker broke! It was that bad juju!
BTW, I have posted some, not much, though, about my education. What can be said? It is a pain in the arse and I shoulda finished it 15 years ago so...I am an English and Communications major. So, what am I ever gonna do with that degree anyway except say I have one???
Hoping tomorrow is brighter- all around, friend. Happy belated Mother's Day...
Oy, coffee troubles always mean disaster in my house. I envy you your clouds though.
Oh dear.....I do hope your son feels better quickly. I'll send good get well soon vibes his way!
I'd say you were just SAVED from a horrible bathing suit disaster...what do you think? (Gotta look on the bright side, ya know!)
PLEASE tell me you have a "backup" coffee maker (we have two)??? If the coffee maker breaks MOM can NOT be held responsible for what happens next!
Maybe tomorrow!! I need to go in search of swim suits for my older girls - they claim not to have any that fit - UGH!
Hope you had a good day at home - see you - Kellan
Beautiful picture of a gloomy ski!
I hate when a fun day (cept for that swim suit thing) is all up in my head and then it all crashes in a heap. I mope and sigh and make the worst of it too.
Tis the season...
for hay fever, fever-fever, and ack...swimsuits. Good luck.
Maybe tomorrow...
I love it when the sky looks like that. I think it looks like heaven is shining down on us!
Look at that...
Wow. Just. Wow.
That's just nature's way of saying "um, are you nuts?"
Hope the fever's gone. Poor little guy :-(
I'm thinking of taking ours to a swim class this summer, but I'm dreading the whole bathing suit thing. If we don't end up doing it, I will be completely and genuinely relieved. Ugh.
Dude! There's some sun there. Run into it. Revel it. Never know when that sun will be gone! LOL! Can you tell where I live??
You must get out! Broken coffee machine = desperation!
You take awesome pictures.
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to plan anything.
I hope your tomorrow is better.
Awww. I hate it when that happens.
Been there! Tomorrow is a new day.
That seems to happen far too often in this house. Hopefully you can go on a mission tomorrow ;)
love that sky! the sun peeking through give hope of a good day.
What is it with coffee makers these days? I do make one pot a day, but mine isn't that old. A couple of days ago, it took almost 30 minutes to warm up the water enough to brew! I guess we will be getting a new one in KY.
oh, how I hate swimming suit shopping. I think I tried on 600 different suits last year, hating every single one. Good luck, and may the sun shine again soon!
I hope tomorrow is better for you!
The view from Chateau Monkey was similar but no way would my shot be that picturesque.
Hope the little Geek is better tonight. :)
You can do what I do when I go swimsuit shopping... say (loudly)
"Show me the board shorts!"
Anyway, they are cute and I can take the kids to the water park and not cringe the entire time.
Hope you have hot cups of joe and hot days ahead!
Call me if you need a jeans shopping partner...You know I loves me jeans! Hope the little one feels better:)
I find that shot very optomistic - rays of light penetrating the ominous surface. I love it. I think that photo symbolizes the last 11 years of my life.
KEEP BELIEVING
But a heck of a photo! Hope the lad is on the mend. The coffee maker, too.
Coffee maker breaking down is a serious problem. Hope your little guy feels better soon.
I hate trying on swim suits. So, I've been ordering from Lands End for the last few years. If it doesn't fit, you can return it to Sears. What a deal!
So sorry your day started on the wrong foot! Hopefully it ended great!!!
I honestly do not want to see anymore clouds for a while. We had more than our fair share of rain lately.
Here's to hoping tomorrow will be better!
That's a gorgeous picture of the sky though!
Oh no, I hate it when something ruins your plans. I hope your little man isn't sick for long.
Oh, those are ominous. Hope your little guy feels better!
Blah... at least you got out of swimming suit shopping. Hope your son is feeling better. The weather's been wacky -- I have a feeling lots of people will be getting spring colds.
Mayday. Mayday. I'm sorry the casa de Geek is sick. Have a few margies and I bet the storm clouds clear...
Never fails, but somehow the look out of the chateau window is still beatuiful.
aw, Goodness. I know how you feel, i have days like that sometimes too.
Are you sure you didn't conjure up that storm to get out of bathing suit shopping?!
ooh fun. I hate it when stuff like that happens.
I'm sorry your day didn't go as planned, and I hope the little guy feels better. And while it's a bit stormy, that's an absolutely wonderful photo!
It takes far less than that to thwart any ideas I may have had about swim suit shopping...FAR less.
Hey, you're off the hook for swim suit shopping for one more day at least! Nice view, though!
ugh.. why does that happen on those "few" ambitious days! ?!?
That's been the way around here lately too. I hope we both have a better tomorrow.
Love the photo!!!
It's so hard to put your desires on hold like that. Get yourself a french press. It's great for a pinch.
Have I told you that you're my photo goddess?
Oh, hubby agreed to a canon after my first class! Woohoo!!! can't wait.
The best laid plans. . .
D'oh! This is why I love eBay ... oh and gap.com :)
Great shot! Has a very heavenly feel to it.
Beautiful shot - love the sky. Sorry to hear ambition was aborted...but if I had to go shopping for a swimsuit it wouldn't take much for me to find something else to do. ;)
You better get a new coffee maker
coffee grounds are just not the sam without one
I'm sorry. I hope your son is feeling better now.
Awesome photo.
Hope your son's fine now. :)
