Guess What
We held a mini 1.5 birthday party this weekend for our son, so I'm too tired to write an actual post.
Instead, I will bore you with a photograph. The first person to correctly guess what this object is or is a part of wins a MAJOR* prize.
On a side note, look at what our litle Elmo stalker had at his party. 27.4 frazillion pounds of frosting supported by 30 cupcakes.

*slight exaggeration

What a riot? That's made from cupcakes?
Hmmm...the wooden thing. Part of a musical instrument?
Wow! An Elmo cake for 1.5! You ARE the best mom in the world! You are making us all look bad.
And the wooden thing? Is it some sort of a chair or bench? You have my husband and me stumped!
Happy 1.5 Little Guy and Mama. Rest up 'cause we need pics and details!
The cake is great! I may have to get one for my next Birthday! :)
Ummm, the wood thing? DS thinks its the seat of a chair.
I love half birthdays! That's one awesome Elmo cake. I'm sure he loved it!
No clue on the mystery object...
I love that Elmo cake.
I'm guessing that the mystery object is a bed post.
I'm guessing that first picture is a piece of wood of some sort, now where is my prize?
That Elmo cake looks sweeeeeeet! Happy 1.5 birthday to little Works for Us Junior!
The detail on a piece of furniture? I love the cupcakes instead of cake thing. Too cute.
Hmm, I'm stumped! Part of a banister maybe? I was gonna guess chair but everyone else has.
Those cupcakes are awesome!! You are too for doing a 1.5 birthday!
we had Elmo cupcakes like that for a friend's birthday party not too long ago and the red frosting stained my fingers for 3 days! :)
and no clue on the wooden thing. I won't even guess.
I'm thinking musical instrument also. The scroll on a violin or cello?
Cake is adorable! And weighty!
The first picture, at first I thought it was an old timey radio. But, then I thought...this is my fingernails clawing into wood dealing with my current stress...how did you know, Mama Geek!
Hope you had a great celebration!
You are such a great mom. A half birthday party! It's like straight from Alice in Wonderland. A very merry unbirthday....
I love the elmo! I want to say a cello or a violin....
No clue on the mystery object but I am loving the Elmo cake. :)
Adorable Elmo Cake, So Very Sweet!
I guess it is an antique
meat drainer board. When you
have a roast you would put
the roasted meat onto the board
and the juices would drain off
so you could make gravy.
Absolutely gorgeous carving.
looks similar to a clock I have from Germany.
Can't wait to see who won :-)
Love the 'cake'
That's a ton of frosting.. really!
A-dorable cake!!
I think the object is a carving on a piece of furniture - and table. I'm never right about these things.
Have a good Monday -see ya. Kellan
OMG...those cupcakes just sent me into a sugar coma! LOL!! They are too cute and what a fun way to celebrate!
PS...I read your blog faithfulyy and it's definitely one I look forward to reading.
I came across your blog through Kellan. Great site!
The cupcake Elmo is genius, happy 1.5 birthday, Little Man!
Lucky kid to have half birthday celebrations. Very cool cake!
As far as the mystery object goes, I agree with the wooden chair guesses.
Is that picture part of some really old board game.....I have no idea. Just a wild guess because it looks as if marbles could roll around those groves.
What an awesome elmo cake!
Is the first picture a chair ?
I love the Elmo cup cakes. All that icing. Yum!!!!
Yikes Bear gets a 1.5 birthday! He's one lucky little fella. Happy 1.5 b-day Bear! :) Mama, you get the mother-of-the-year award, for realz!
Uhhh the object...you got me. Maybe some machete cravings...lol...okay lame guess, but I'm stickin' to it.
I LOVE those cupcakes! Did you make those? Is that a chair leg?
The underside of a chair? You are a very fun and brave Mama! I hope you took the cake to a restaurant--having a little panic attack over the red frosting!
You rock Mamageek! What a great Elmo cake!
I believe the wooden thingy is part of a chair....
Happy 1.5 bday! As for the picture, a wooden drum?
Very cute Elmo! In my 5+yrs of being a mom I never did the 1/2 birthday thing (that I remember...maybe I did that first one).
My only guess is the handle of a wooden spoon or back scratcher?
How fun to have a 1.5 birthday party! WOW...check out that cake!!
ps: I high-fived you for a hoopla AND I left an award for you over at my site...
i just want one of those cupcakes!
Heh. My daughter couldn't sucker that pile of frosting out of my for her 2nd birthday, let alone 1.5. YOU are making ME look bad. Oh well!
The wood thing? Part of a game board?
I love the half birthday idea. My oldest son would too since his birthday is in December - just two days after Christmas.
The Elmo cupcakes are a really cute idea!
oooooo look at that frosting. I have a sugar high just looking at it.
as for the object....I'm guessing it is part of a little wooden owl. :)
I'm going to guess the back of a really cool, ornate, vintage wooden chair?
Love the cake!
the arm of a chair?
mmm... frosting....
Tell me you didn't make that Elmo confection yourself!
The wooden thingee is an old game that's meant to be played with marbles?
That elmo cake is FAB-U-LOUS!!!
1.5 birthday--what a great excuse for cake! I love it.
I can't wait to see what the wooden thing is.
Happy 1.5!!! And what a cake!!!I love it. As for the mystery object--is it a piece of furniture? I don't know. I'm so bad at this stuff. Funky wooden spoon . . . see, really, really bad.
How about a belt buckle. : )
And wow I totally agree with everyone, that Elmo cake is AWESOME!
It looks really familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think the person that suggested an owl was probably right, I went back and looked and it does look like one.
I have no guess on the chair, but that Elmo cake is superb. I bet everyone had bloody looking mouths though afterwards :) Elmo and a vampire theme all rolled into one?? Sure! ;)
My nephew had a Blues Clues cake once and we all had blue mouths and lips after that one. Yuck...but oh so yummy too!
Wow! Lucky kid! A half bday party! You are an awesome mom!
Um. Is it one of those musical things with the metal prongs that you flick with your thumbs? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I don't even know what I'm talking about.
Oh my that looks fun! Love Elmo!
Whatever it is (a flute) - it is beautiful.
Elmo Cake is AWESOME!! And less mess cuz it's cupcakes, too cute!
The mystery wood thingy - the seat of a chair???
Detail from something Eastlake Victorian. Could be part of a chair, or a desk, or a piano.
Happy partial birthday!
We had that same cake....whoever invented the cupcake cake is a genius!
The wood thing: part of a butter mold
The Elmo cake looks gorgeous. So, what cake next when he is 2? About guessing the picture... no clue!!
I think the wooden object is a toilet seat cover. Do I win? Do I win?
I love the cake! That is adorable. It must have been so much fun to clean up the happy toddler, high on sugar!
We go with a part of a amusical instrument...if so..grab it and...
**Shhhh!**
You are invited to a SURPRISE BLOGGY BIRTHDAY PARTY for kari this Wednesday, Feb 20.
She is turning 40!!!
I would love for you to stop by the party on Wednesday to surprise (hopefully!) the birthday girl, enjoy a bite of cake, sprinkle a little of your magic birthday dust, and check out the party favor giveaway!
blessings,
kijsa
Elmo is terribly cute, but that is a boatload of frosting, whoa!
I'm going to guess that pic #1 is a close-up of a wooden bracelet of some sort? (sooo bad at these things!) :)
Lizzy
What a cute cake.
As for wooden thing? remnant of David Garrett's smashed 18th century violin purchased from Ebay?
Poor guy. At least he was okay.
that cake...looks. so.yummy!!
so not sure what that wooden thing is...i'm going to go with a game, of some sort...for marbles!!
xoxo
ps...my birthday...it's march 29th...i don't need such a fancy elmo cake...thanks...mwah!!
Cool cake.
Vintage stroller? Or close up of a metronome?
Well, i guess it looks like a chair. The cake, now, I'm really excited about the cake. Love, love, love (emph on love) the icing. YUMMO! have a gr8 day, my friend.
FANTASTIC cake! Happy Birthday little one!
No idea on the wooden thing - part of a grandfather clock?
Heidi
That's just the cutest cake I've ever seen! What a special 1.5 birthday party!
I'm stumped on the picture...maybe part of some antique? Humidor?
Gotta be a bench or a chair.
And since I am a lover of all things frosting (like a 6year old, I know), that Elmo looks YUMMY.
The Elmo cake is adorable! I'd better not let my little one see it, or she'll want one!
'frazillion' -- that's my new favorite word! I plan on using it tons. ;-) Oh and I love 1.5 b-day parties! You're such a fabulous mom!
As far as the wooden thing goes...hmmmm At first I would say a chair or post, but that would be too easy. I'm guessing it's something totally different? Maybe a serving tray or something? I have no clue and I can't stand the fact that I can't figure it out.
~melody~
I know, I know. It's what the hard-of-hearing farmer did because he thought calving season was carving season.
Right?
Aww I love the whole 1.5 birthday party thing. And that cake looks like any 18 month old's bigest dream come true. :)
My only guess is a violin.
That Elmo cake is such a creative design!
Very cool photo. Some sort of instrument?
wow! Youa re too amazing for words. That is the coolest cake ever. My little Elmos stalker would have loved it! I am so glad taht I am not the only one who thinks half birthday should be celebrated!
I LOVE the 'cake'!! Did you do that? That's awesome!!
As for the wooden thing -- I may or may not get back to you on that!!
Cutest Elmo ever!!
The wooden thing is a chair? isn't it?
Yummy cake! it looks like the party was a blast! :)
I'm taking another guess...is it something to do with a toy soldier? I wanna know what it is..TELL US! ;-)
~melody~
Man, you're totally setting the bar way too high, here. Uncle!!
MetaBoy would have gone nuts. He yells Ema (or is it Emo...or Ama?) every time Elmo comes on screen. Can't even imagine what he would do if Ema made a live appearance in frosting form.
I love cakes that are actually cupcakes. We have them up this way in Canada too. Whoever invited that needs a huge award!! Those cakes make it so much easier for children's parties.
