For Moi?
You know that feeling when a FTD delivery van turns into your driveway, parks the van, rings your doorbell and presents you with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers you have EVER seen, because someone thinks you're worthy? Me. Neither.
The Meshugganah asked me to hold them (salivate) for my absentee neighbor. Adding insult to injury, he woke my son up from his nap.
There should be a florist pity rule that gives the holder a friggin carnation.
I'm just sayin.

LMAO - You are too funny and so right on. Figure it out. Make it happen.
Oh, bummer. But you got to take pictures, right? I'm looking for an upside.
oh, shit. what a day. at least you got to stare at them for a while.
I feel your pain, sister! I don't ever get flowers either.
At least you get to admire and smell the flowers for a while. :)
I think that is a fabulous idea! I have always been tempted to put a big sign on the doorbell when the babies were napping.
PS, I fixed my bloglines thingy...thanks!
Oh no, what a let down. And to wake up your son too, not nice!
That's just wrong. Unfortunately my husband likes to use ProFlowers so my flowers generally come via UPS. In a box. Not nearly as exciting.
Oh too funny. I hate that!
i don't know why i just snorted when i saw the word meshuggina...or however it's spelled!! i love that word...but, that's because...i am, a little bit...bwahahahahaha
Oh that ain't right. no way. no how. you should have taken a stem!
I claim to not care about getting flowers, but that would make me want to tell the delivery guy to go find someone else to babysit his flowers. Or leave the flowers on my neighbor's porch to freeze.
Meshugganah! *snort* There's one I haven't heard in a while!
I say you take one from the bunch. The neighbor will never notice and after all, you are entitled to something in lieu of payment. And waking up the little one? A big no-no!
Oh my hell! That's soooo wrong!
They're beautiful but dude, someone should get hurt for that.
I love the way you look at life!
u funny mommy!! on the upside, its a nice shot and u do take very nice pics...:-)
I agree. But no one says you HAVE to give them to the neighbours right? I mean if they never know.... ;)
Aren't you glad I didn't move in next door!
You slay me. That is sooo funny and sooo something that would happen to me.
lol, i know exactly what you mean. But I do have a best friend who had an ex who sent her flowers 1x a week for months after they broke up and she gave them to me.
what a let down.
I have to say that this gave me a laugh because I fully expected you to be posting about some boquet your hubs had gotten you or something.. much less entertaining for us.
Yeah - at least a carnation - I agree. That is a beautiful picture of "your neighbors" flowers. Take care - Kellan
Bummer...Just so you know, no one ever sends me flowers either:(
I once received flowers at the office on my birthday.
It had a beautiful card and everything! I was so incredibly "oh-someone's-gonna-get-lucky- tonight" thrilled UNTIL I realized they were for my gay assistant...
The receptionist just called me to get them since he was out to lunch.
Did I mention it was muh BIRTHDAY!
Why is it that I'm dying laughing right now and when my husband asks why and I tell him, he just doesn't get it? Ohhh that's just so funny ... and you know I'm laughing WITH you not AT you, right? I can't remember the last time I got flowers, although...I really don't like getting them because they just die on ya. I'd rather save all my flower money and get a Coach purse. ;) Yeah, I'm a handbag junkie. Let the neighbors have the flowers. hehe
~melody~
I love that shot! It is gorgeous.
And I'm hoping your husband read this post and MADE IT RIGHT...
Heidi
I think there's a special place in hell for visitors/delivery people who wake babies up from their naps. And if they're delivering flowers FOR SOMEONE ELSE? Well, I don't even know . . .
Girrrl, one time I was working for 2 companies at the same time... and one company was trying to do business with the other, me being the liason.
So on one particular occasion the guard at the desk called me saying, or rather I heard, "you have flowers down here for you". I grabbed my friend and ran downstairs all excited.
When I got to the desk he hands me a stack of papers. Confused I ask, "where are my flowers?".
Confused HE says, "I don't know where your flowers are, but here are you fliers."
I don't know what it's like either.
And waking your son up from his nap? That delivery guy is a lucky man. There could have been some serious damage done if he'd done that at my house.
I hate that let down when you get all excited about getting something, then you find out it is not for you. That just sucks!!!!
Yeah, that is THE SUCK. My heart just broke a smidge on your behalf.
at least you got a pretty picture out of it. and a funny blog post.
Funny. If I had seen the delivery van in my driveway I would automatically assume it was for the neighbors and not for me.
But waking up the little one, that's just plain mean on top of disappointment.
Oh no!!!! My heart would completely sink. Flipping florist.
Now that you mention it, I can't remember the last time I got flowers. Hubby's getting an earful tonight! ;)
That's just WRONG! You deserved at least a carnation. lol Gorgeous pix! I'm so jealous of your talent, but I'm not gonna hate cause you're too nice! hehehe
Bad enough about the flowers but RUINING the nap? That just ain't right. Now you really deserve some lovely flowers. Did you hear that, Sam? MamaGeek NEEDS some pretty flowers!!!
That sucks...I would have held the flowers all day for your neighbor...
Oh, I hate that! This always happens to me as our neighbor is never home. Yeah, leave it with the poor stay-at-home mom with two kids screaming and wailing on her legs. Then ask her to run over and hand them to the person that has went to her glamorous job all day. Grrr...
Yep, not only should that be a rule. THAT should be illegal! :)
Okay....so that would sooooooooo tick me off. man.....what a bummer.
That is WRONG on MANY levels. I'm sorry. You deserve flowers. Tell the hubs you want some.
Oh, but you got the chance to take a lovely photo!
This are beautiful flowers. Too bad they weren't for you ... but at least you get to remember that forever now since you have this great photo ! ha. Your story made me laugh !! The me, neither bit ... classic !!!
Works for me...I'll take a carnation any day - over a big fat helping of NOTHING!
LOL...well at least you got a whiff of Spring...worst part, bet your son only slept 20 minutes right??
You're absolutely right, a carnation or possibly a rose!!
I love the feeling of getting flowers though, even though in a few days they end up stinking up my whole house as the water turns grimy. I have to admit, I guess I am bad with taking care of flowers....
That's why I buy my own. At the grocery store. Then I bring them home and put them in a pretty vase. Forget those delivery drivers!
Gorgeous shot!
And that's totally unfair to bring you flowers (not to mention wake up your kiddo!) and then just ask you to 'hold' them!
LOL - You are too funny! Love the flower shot ~ beautiful. My hubby used to hand deliver beautiful bouquets...then we kids and...'nuff said. ;)
You're cracking me up!
Oh, crap! Seriously??
They dangle it in front of your nose like that and then just YANK it away???
That happened to me. On mother's day. The flowers were for a woman who is not a mother. I was pissed!
Holy Canoli...you are a "say whatever's on your mind kind of a chick" aren't you? I LOVE that!
AND...
if it's any consolation I would have given you a carnation!
Melissa
Oh I hate when they wake someone up...c'mon that's bloggin time!
ha ha ! that is so funny - because it happened to me today in fact.
I was in back of my house dumping my kitchen scraps into the compost when a delivery guy with flowers walked up to me.
"Do you know your neighbors over here?" he asked.
Uh ... yeah.... I'll hold their flowers...
Now, that's just criminal.
Emily
Funny. I never get flowers either, so I can imagine your surprise and excitement and disappointment.
That's just such a tease by karma. All I usually have to do is hold an ugly box for my neighbor (she gets tons of deliveries), but I might be a little more resistant to handing over that bouquet ;-)
Oh ya, you're husband's in trouble now. Now he's gotta get you flowers AND chocolate just to make up for it!
I love it...you said Meshugannah!!!
lol
My mom would love that!
Bradley
The Egel Nest
The last time I got flowers was the last time I gave birth. Maybe I'll get some flowers just by threatening to have another baby?
You have my sympathy.
Aww shucks. ;-)
