Interesting list, happy TT.
So sad about Sandusky!!
I probably eatenough candy corn to circle my house
I ate my 1 millionth pound of candy corn this week!Happy Halloween and T13!
Very informative TT. I like #4... I think the other 10% should own up to sneaking candy from kids' bags. I'd be interested to know if #12 is enforced and if so, the severity of the penalty.
I never realised that Halloween is such a big business. No wonder the candy and toy manufacturers want to introduce it to other countries.
35 million pounds of candy corn is, in my opinion, 35 million pounds too many!
I'm in the 14% that doesn't decorate (or celebrate) Halloween.
:-)
Love the list, though.
Happy TT!
I'm canadian and do NOT decorate!!!!
Interesting list!!!! :) Happy TT!!!
I must be one of those renegade 10% who gladly admits to brazenly helping herself to the kids' candy.
Wait. What? What's that? That 10% says they don't take their kids' candy?
They're lying, you know.
Happy TT and Happy Halloween!
#4--90% of parents admit to sneaking goodies from kids' bags.
and ten percent are liars!!!
interesting list...I'm definitely in the company of those who admit to sneaking candy out of their kids' goodie bags...
:)
Interesting facts. Happy Halloween and TT.
I'm one of the 14% who don't decorate. I feel downright UnAmerican and will buy some decorations tomorrow (at half price) for next year. Re: #4 -- I know my Mom took my popcorn balls. She denied it, but I KNOW she did it!
I'm one of the 14% who doesn't decorate for Halloween. I decorate for Fall: scarecrows, straw, uncarved pumpkins. I don't do the scary side of the season...
Yes, Halloween is big business. In Hong Kong, Halloween used to be unheard of but is fast gaining popularity. If the young can have some fun and there's money to be made, why not, right?
Wow...thats some cool stuff. I didnt know Pumpkin was a squash. You learn something new every day!! Happy TT.
Wow. I love candy corn makes me want some right now
Ya gotta sneak the dark chocolate out of the kids bags. They don't appreciate the finer things in life until they have kids.
Pumpkin is a cucumber? I didn't know that! Happy Halloween and Happy TT!
wow.
I don't like candy corn. Is that weird?
That's a boatload of candy....!! And what's with Sandusky? Now I know why carloads of kids are leaving town every 10/31!!
Happy TT!
I. LOVE. CANDY CORN.
And I am one of the small percentage of Americans who don't decorate for Halloween.
When I have my share of the candy corn you describe, I orbit the moon, oh, about six times. Powerful stuff!
My thoughts... first.. that 10% of parents are totally lying. EVERYONE sneaks candy from their kids! Second, I'm part of the non-decorators for Halloween. Not because I'm against it or anything, I just never end up getting around to it. I keep meaning to decorate though, does that count?
I know my mom didn't sneak candy from our bags. Instead, she had to inspect our hauls and got to choose a little of the best of each bag for herself. I didn't mind, because she always took my coconut candies, and I wouldn't have eaten them anyways. I hate coconut.
It's crazy that we spend more than a 3rd world country's total economy on one day? CrAzY I tell you!
Very interesting. I love candy corn. I would visit a mood laded with candy corn. Happy Halloween.
Amazing!
Terrific Thursday Thirteen!
My TT is posted.
Have a wonderful day!
Happy TT'ing!

My grandma's pumpkin pies are really squash.
I love candy corn! Sadly, so does the dog - then she throws it up!
Happy TT.
Some of those were pretty interesting (Vitamin A, who knew?), some just made sense. :-)
Halloween is not widely practiced here in the Philippines but it's beginning to pick up. Hopefully, there will come a time when we will all get to celebrate it.
Happy Thursday!
(finger snap) It just dawned on me that I have not bought any Candy Corn this year!

No. 4 is for the kids' good, right? That's my story anyway.
I love facts! Great list:)
Hey Sandusky is a great place! That's where Cedar Point is. They always have some Halloween themed goings-on.
The only fact I doubt is the one that 14% don't decorate for Halloween. I think it is MUCH bigger percent. My street is nearly bereft of decorations.
My Thusday Thirteen is up. It is the 54th Edition. The topic this week, 13 Television Shows Spin-offs! Stop by if you get a chance. Oh and Happy NaNoWriMo!
Thanks for sharing that!
#13 surprised me the most... Hardly anyone seems to decorate around here. But maybe they just keep it inside?
I definitely sneak candy from my kids... but talked them into sharing it. So I don't feel so bad.. :)
Wow!! I would also assume that dentists and candy companys are conspiring with each other so that Americans will end up spending either a ton of money on the candy or a ton of money on fixing all of the cavities.
WOW! amazing facts! Never thought of that! Thanks for sharing:)
Mine is up here;
Thursday Thirteen
Happy TT and Happy Halloween!
Wow what stats!
How interesting that squash is good source of vitamin A...sometimes I just crave squash for dinner like I'm obsessed.
Great list.
Here is mine:
Cheers

So much candy...so little time.

Great facts! And, I think I ate a pound of chocolate today.
...Minnesota? Really? Hmmm...who knew! Interesting list :-)
Wow, 14% of Americans DON'T decorate for Halloween! I live in Scotland, I think you would be lucky to find 14% of homeowners who DO decorate for Halloween! Great TT!
That is a great list. I did not decorate this year! All of my decor is in storage.
very interesting list of facts!
happy TT and thanks for stopping by!
Wow, great info!!
LOL Great list! I was at the store the other day and someone was asking where the pumpkins were - they were not in the produce aisle. The man said "oh they're in the front - they're a decoration not produce" LOL So that must mean #1 isn't entirely correct.
thanks for the visit and comment for my Wordless Wednesday..love the 13 facts u have here.
Great list! I can't believe only 14% don't decorate; I don't really know too many who DO decorate!
Very interesting list of facts! I hope your Halloween was spooktacular!
#4: The other 10% are lying.
Glad to see I help improve the stats on number of pounds of candy corn eaten per year. Try them with M&M's and peanuts, yummy mix!
http://momof4girls.blogspot.com/
WOW very interesting facts.
Happy T13
I'm one of the 14% I guess.
Happy TT!
Wow! Great TT!
Parents aren't the only ones that sneak from kids candy bags. I remember when I worked in the emergency room radiology department. Kids would bring their bags of candy in to be x-rayed each year. We would then have to show the x-rays to the ER doctor for him to clear the bag. He would usually sneak out 1 or 2 from each bag. Considering how many kids we had each year, I am shocked he didn't go into sugar shock or something.
Candy Corn! One of the best parts about Halloween. Hmmm, I didn't eat any this year. I'd better go find some.
Smiles,
Holly
Very interesting! My Thursday Thirteen is up too... I'd love to have you visit.
I wish it was illegal for those older than 14 here. When you're old enough to have a moustache, you're too old for trick-or-treating!
Hi. My name is Betty. And I sneak candy from my daughter's bag.
Great list! Love facts...but wow, didn't know Halloween was so profitable. And yes, both my DH and I snuck candy from our grandchildren's bag!

I have 4 pumpkins that we never got around to carving - my husband suggested that maybe I make pumpkin pie - I just laughed. Fun list - have a good day. See ya.
Great Halloween Facts. I would hate to live in Sandusky though! lol
And I can live on Candy Corn...it should be considered it's own food group!
My 13 is up!
#4 Guilty Guilty Guilty
I couldn't wait to sneak a snickers out of my girl's bag last night after she went to bed!!!
Woo hoo , Halloween my all time favorite holiday. Cool info. :o)
My 16 year old sisterinlaw still trick-or-treats and plans on going next year too. I have mixed feelings about that.
oh and the candy corn. I'm pretty sure a significant percentage of that is consumed by my husband.
Happy TT

Re: #4. And 10% of parents lie about not stealing their kids' candy.
That's a great TT List!!!
LOVE the list! I did not know that about Sandusky, the home of Cedar Point and Halloweekends. Makes no sense...
Fun facts! I didn't realize the rich source of vitamin a...
Yes, and that entire 14% that doesn't decorate lives in my neighborhood.
First of all, how on earth do you always get so many readers?! 2nd, neat facts you got here :) Mine's up -- come by when you can.
Some fascinating facts there. Thanks for posting. Mine is up at Siani's Pot-Pourri/ - happy TT!
wow great lsit
A disturbing fact I learned from a friend who works as a department supervisor in a grocery store is that the Halloween candy is actually packaged around May or so. No wonder stores put it out so early. She said that her store started receiving Christmas candy by the end of August.
Happy TT!
I can honestly say I don't sneak candy! I have a nut allergy, and most candy is made in a factory that also processes nuts!
Happy Halloween
Do you know something? I don't think I have ever had candy corn! I know! Scandalous.
$1.5 billion dollars on costumes. makes you wonder how many people that would feed, doesn't it?
That is CRAZY! You learn 13 new things everyday..
9 billion pieces?! If these were bricks, I could build mansions or an empire already. Hehhe
I got snagged on the 14% don't decorate. Really? Very few people decorate for Halloween where I live (but then again, they don't decorate much for ANY season).
Love the thought of all that Halloween candy, even though it is now off limits. It is the PRIVILEGE of parents to sneak a little candy here and there. Sort of a commission.
#4: I'm admitting to sneaking out all my son's chocolate candy. Bad Mommy!
14% of Americans don't decorate: Raising my hand - that'da be me!
