Save $$ - Homemade Baby Food
I am not (by any means) a gourmet chef. But after our baby turned 6 Months old and I received a Dex Electric Food Processor for Christmas, I attempted and then continued to make homemade baby food! It's so easy, healthy and inexpensive (a fraction of the cost of store-bought baby food). I generally cook food in batches that last 3-4 weeks.
Simply cook (or steam) the food, puree it and freeze it into ice cube trays. 2 cubes = 1 serving. Heat the cubes in the microwave for roughly one minute and serve. Voila!
There are some excellent simple recipes on the following sites: http://www.myhomemadebabyfood.com/ and http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/babymenua.htm
